With a 155 year history of assisting Queensland businesses to thrive, Business Chamber Queensland (formerly known as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland or CCIQ) is a Regional Certifying Body for Queensland in the locations of:
Cairns, Gold Coast, Mackay, Rockhampton (including Emerald), Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay and Burnett (including Bundaberg), Toowoomba, Townsville and Mount Isa.
As a Regional Certifying Body for Queensland, we provide advice to the Department of Home Affairs on the Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 494) (‘SESR visa’) in the Employer Sponsored (‘ES’) stream.
Business Chamber Queensland is also a Jaz-ANZ accredited Certificates of Origin issuing authority and the ATA Carnet authority for Queensland.
About the Position
We are looking for a reliable person with a strong attention to detail, capable of managing and delivering compliance activities related to:
- Reviewing and approving relevant paperwork for regional approved skills shortage positions; and
- Export documentation processing.
This customer service oriented position will also provide advice to the Department of Home Affairs on SESR visa and ES stream nomination applications using local area knowledge to advise on whether the nominee for the position will be paid at least the annual market salary rate for the occupation.
Key duties include:
- Assessing Regional Certifying Body applications;
- Making informed decisions in relation to a particular nomination based on a sound understanding of the various industries in the region;
- Advising businesses of the Regional Certifying Body assessment criteria and the assessment process;
- Collaborating with Stakeholders to achieve positive migration outcomes;
- Promotion of Business Chamber Queensland as a Regional Certifying Body to members and clients;
- Issuing Certificates of Origin and other export documentation as per established international guidelines and standards;
- Assisting the wider International Trade team with relevant Regional overflow work as required;
- Other duties as requested by the Manager.
About You, Our Next Team Member
We are eager to talk further with you where you can demonstrate:
- Experience in customer service and business administration;
- Knowledge of industrial relations and wage issues in Queensland
- Experience with SalesForce or alternative CRM systems;
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (or soon to be achieved qualifications) in Business, Commerce, Law or relevant discipline;
- A service-oriented approach, an enthusiastic, motivated and positive attitude, and initiative;
- The ability to manage time and tasks, and apply analytical skills to a situation;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; and
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
Desired, but not essential skills include:
- Previous experience with the Department of Home Affairs or other government departments; and
- Detailed knowledge of the export documentation processing (training will be provided where needed).
