Purchasing Manager

The successful applicant would have experience in Purchasing / Ordering, Stores & Warehousing, have good people and computer skills, some experience in electronic scanning and barcoding, be keen to learn, be able to work unsupervised and as part of a team, be able to order, receive and distribute goods

ABOUT THE JOB
The successful applicant would be responsible for supervision and development of the store’s personnel, and the day-to-day ordering and purchasing of all products and equipment associated with the running and maintenance of an export beef processing plant, this includes Chemicals, all packaging cartons, plastics, machinery, tools and equipment for any maintenance and repairs of machinery and vehicles, organising scheduled maintenance of company forklifts and yard maintenance equipment.    Key responsibilities are:-
• Record keeping and invoicing, ensuring all accounts are processed with the accounts department in a timely manner.
• Ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained, investigate order discrepancies and problem solving to identify the root cause to avoid reoccurrence.
• Following up on any outstanding orders, claims/credits with suppliers in a timely manner.
• Receipting of delivery dockets.
• Provide reporting on inventory levels, vendor spend, delivery performance and production.
• Perform regular cycle counts and stocktakes.

Ideally, candidates with the following attributes are encouraged to apply:
• Demonstrated Procurement experience within high volume supply chain, inventory
• and administration
• Previous experience within a similar FMCG environment highly desirable
• MS office experience in excel, word and outlook
• Strong stakeholder and personnel management skills
• Have good communication skills
• Willing to work Monday to Friday 38 hours per week and some overtime
• Saturday work when required (Stocktaking)
• Must be safety aware and be able to follow all safety policies.
• Have a current manual car licence.
• Have a current forklift licence or be willing to undertake training in forklift operations to gain a forklift licence.
• Be vaccinated for Q-Fever or be willing to undertake vaccination for Q-Fever
